Muhammad Yunus is a Bangladeshi economist, statesman, and Nobel Peace Prize laureate born in 1940. He pioneered the modern concepts of microcredit and microfinance by founding Grameen Bank, earning international acclaim including the Nobel Peace Prize in 2006, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, and the Congressional Gold Medal. Following the July Uprising and the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, he assumed office as the Chief Adviser of Bangladesh, heading the interim government tasked with democratic reforms and constitutional revisions.
