She currently serves as a Deputy to the National Assembly of Vietnam (16th tenure) and holds the position of President of Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, becoming the first woman to lead the institution in 2025. A distinguished chemist and professor, she was elected to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam in 2026. Her academic career includes extensive research on medicinal plants and pharmacology, earning her recognition as a fellow of The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) and the Kovalevskaia Award.
