Nick Thomas-Symonds is a British politician, academic, and barrister who has served as the Member of Parliament for Torfaen since 2015. Appointed Paymaster General, Minister for the Cabinet Office, and Minister for the Constitution and European Union Relations in July 2024, he plays a central role in the government's negotiations with the European Union. Previously, he held several shadow cabinet positions, including Shadow Home Secretary and Shadow Secretary of State for International Trade. A fellow of the Royal Historical Society, he has authored several political biographies and taught politics at the University of Oxford before his election to Parliament.
