Nitza Morán

Nitza Morán is a Puerto Rican politician, scientist, and entrepreneur serving as a member of the Senate of Puerto Rico representing the San Juan I district since 2021. Prior to her political career, she worked as a researcher studying HIV at the Ponce Health Sciences University, managed family businesses, and served as president of the La Placita Merchants Association for 19 years. A member of the New Progressive Party, she also leads the Progressive Women of San Juan and identifies as a Catholic who supports abortion rights.
