He is a member of the Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS), which is a component party of the Perikatan Nasional coalition. In 2024, he was a recipient of the 17th Yang di-Pertuan Agong Installation Medal. He continues to represent his constituency in the 15th Malaysian Parliament.
