Paula Cardoso

Maria Paula da Graça Cardoso is a Portuguese politician currently serving as a member of the Assembly of the Republic, representing the Aveiro constituency. First elected in 2009, she has held multiple mandates throughout the 11th, 12th, 15th, and subsequent legislatures. A lawyer by profession, she previously served as a municipal councillor in Águeda and held leadership roles in local child protection committees. Within the Social Democratic Party, she has served as a vice-president and chaired the Committee on Constitutional Affairs, Rights, Freedoms and Guarantees. Her political work includes advocacy for international legislation regarding the prevention of sexual violence in conflict.
