Paulo Pimenta

Paulo Pimenta is a Brazilian journalist, agricultural technician, and politician currently serving as a federal deputy for the state of Rio Grande do Sul. A long-time member of the Workers' Party (PT), he has held various legislative and executive roles, including serving as the Chief Minister of the Secretariat of Social Communication in the Lula da Silva administration. Throughout his career, Pimenta has been a prominent figure in Rio Grande do Sul politics, having served as a councilman and vice-mayor of Santa Maria, as well as a state deputy. His legislative work has focused on public security, drug policy, and the expansion of federal education, notably contributing to the creation of the Federal University of Pampa.
