Giuseppe De Cristofaro is an Italian politician currently serving as a member of the Senate of the Republic and president of the Mixed Group. Born in Naples, he began his political career in the youth wing of the Italian Communist Party and later held leadership roles in the Communist Refoundation Party and Left Ecology Freedom. He served as a deputy from 2006 to 2008 and as a senator from 2013 to 2018. Between 2019 and 2021, he served as an Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Education, University and Research. Re-elected to the Senate in 2022, he remains a prominent figure representing the Italian Left within the Alleanza Verdi e Sinistra coalition.
