Pete Flores is an American politician currently serving as a member of the Texas State Senate, representing District 24. A member of the Republican Party, he previously represented District 19 from 2018 to 2021, becoming the first Hispanic Republican elected to the Texas Senate in state history. Before entering politics, Flores had a distinguished 27-year career as a law enforcement officer, retiring as a Colonel Game Warden for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. His legislative priorities include property tax reform, support for law enforcement, and the protection of Second Amendment rights. In 2025, he authored the Stopping AI-Generated Child Pornography Act, which established new criminal offenses for the possession and distribution of AI-generated explicit material involving children.
