Pete Ricketts is an American politician and businessman serving as the junior United States Senator from Nebraska since 2023. Previously, he served as the 40th Governor of Nebraska from 2015 to 2023, where he focused on tax reductions, budget management, and conservative social policies, including support for capital punishment. Before entering public office, Ricketts held executive roles at TD Ameritrade, a company founded by his father, and was a part owner of the Chicago Cubs. He is a graduate of the University of Chicago.
