Peter Beyer

Peter Beyer is a German politician and lawyer who has served as a member of the Bundestag since 2009, representing the Mettmann II constituency. A member of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), he previously held the position of Coordinator of Transatlantic Cooperation at the Federal Foreign Office from 2018 to 2021. Throughout his parliamentary career, Beyer has focused on foreign policy, particularly transatlantic relations and security issues in South-Eastern Europe. He is an active member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, where he has served as a rapporteur on Kosovo. Beyond his legislative work, he is a qualified intellectual property lawyer and has been involved in various international policy organizations, including the Atlantik-Brücke and the Aspen Institute.
