Peter Flannery

Peter Flannery is an Australian politician currently serving as the Mayor of the City of Moreton Bay in Queensland. His political career began as a Caboolture Shire Councillor from 2004 to 2008, followed by service as a Councillor for Division 2 of the Moreton Bay Region from 2012 to 2020. He was elected mayor in 2020 and oversaw the region's transition to a city in 2023. In late 2024, Flannery faced significant public controversy after implementing council bans on homeless individuals sleeping in vehicles and keeping pets, citing concerns over illegal behavior and public safety.
