Peter Malinauskas

Peter Malinauskas is an Australian politician serving as the 47th Premier of South Australia since 2022. A member of the Labor Right faction, he has represented the seat of Croydon in the House of Assembly since 2018, having previously served in the Legislative Council from 2015 to 2018. Before entering parliament, he was a prominent trade union official with the Shop, Distributive and Allied Employees Association. His premiership has been marked by a focus on healthcare reform, the implementation of a state-based First Nations Voice to Parliament, and significant legislative changes regarding social media safety and political donation reform. He is known for a centrist political approach and has described his personal views as socially conservative.
