Peter Welch

Peter Welch is an American lawyer and politician serving as the junior United States Senator from Vermont since 2023. A member of the Democratic Party, he previously served as the U.S. Representative for Vermont's at-large congressional district from 2007 to 2023 and held leadership roles in the Vermont Senate. Throughout his career, Welch has focused on issues such as healthcare, climate change, and economic policy, often emphasizing his commitment to bipartisanship and progressive values. He is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross and the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law.
