Petr Kubis is a Czech politician and former police officer currently serving as the Governor of the Karlovy Vary Region. A member of the ANO 2011 movement, he has held various regional and municipal leadership roles, including serving as the Mayor of Sokolov from 2022 to 2025 and previously as Governor from 2020. Before entering politics, he had a long career in law enforcement, notably with the Police of the Czech Republic, and was recognized as the 'Policeman of the Year' in 2007. He holds a degree in security and legal studies from the Police Academy of the Czech Republic.
