Phan Văn Giang

Phan Văn Giang is a Vietnamese politician and Army General currently serving as the Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam and the Minister of National Defence. Born in 1960, he has had a distinguished military career spanning several decades, including service in the 1979 border conflict and leadership roles within the Vietnam People's Army. He previously served as the Chief of the General Staff and has been a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam since 2016. He holds a doctorate in military science.
