Charles Phillip Wheeler Jr. is an American attorney and politician currently serving as a member of the Kentucky Senate representing the 31st district. Born in Pikeville, Kentucky, in 1978, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in history and German from Transylvania University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Kentucky College of Law. Before his election to the state senate in a 2019 special election, Wheeler established a career as a lawyer at Wheeler & Baker, PLLC, where he notably represented coal miners suffering from black lung disease. He is a former Fulbright scholar and continues to serve in the Kentucky legislature, where he has also held leadership roles on economic development and labor committees.
