Pinarayi Vijayan is an Indian politician serving as a Member of the Kerala Legislative Assembly for Dharmadom and the Leader of the Opposition in the Kerala Legislative Assembly. A prominent leader of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), he previously served as the 12th Chief Minister of Kerala from 2016 to 2026, becoming the first chief minister in the state to be re-elected after completing a full five-year term. His long political career includes serving as the CPI(M) Kerala State Secretary and Minister of Electricity.
