R. Kumar is an Indian politician serving as a member of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly for the Velachery constituency. Elected in 2026 as a representative of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, he was subsequently appointed as the Minister for Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology and Digital Services in the Vijay ministry. Before entering politics, he worked in the private sector and managed a family business. He holds a degree in civil engineering from the University of Madras and completed a business leadership program at IIM Bengaluru.
