Rachel Hopkins is a British Labour politician serving as the Member of Parliament for Luton South and South Bedfordshire since 2024, having previously represented Luton South from 2019. Before entering national politics, she served as a Luton Borough Councillor from 2011 to 2021, where she held the position of Executive Member for Public Health. During her parliamentary career, she has served as a Shadow Minister for the Cabinet Office and as a Shadow Minister for Veterans and Defence People. Hopkins is known for her humanist views and has been involved in various legislative efforts, including co-sponsoring the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill. She is a former employee of the Electoral Commission and the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority.
