Rebekha Sharkie

Rebekha Sharkie is an Australian politician who has served as the Member of Parliament for the division of Mayo since 2016. Born in England and raised in Australia, she previously worked as a paralegal and in youth employment services before entering politics. Initially involved with the Liberal Party, she later joined the Nick Xenophon Team, which evolved into the Centre Alliance. Sharkie is noted for her advocacy on regional issues, including the establishment of the Coorong, Lower Lakes and Murray Mouth Research Centre. She has successfully defended her seat in multiple federal elections, including the 2025 federal election, and continues to serve as a prominent cross-bench representative.
