Reena Szczepanski

Reena Szczepanski is an American politician serving as a member of the New Mexico House of Representatives for the 47th district, having assumed office in January 2023. Born in Decatur, Georgia, to immigrant parents from India, she earned a Bachelor of Science in human biology and community health from Brown University. Before her election, she held significant roles in public health and advocacy, including serving as the director of the New Mexico chapter of the Drug Policy Alliance and executive director of Emerge New Mexico. She also served as chief of staff for former Speaker Brian Egolf from 2017 to 2022.
