Ric McIver

Ric McIver is a Canadian politician serving as the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta since May 2025. A member of the United Conservative Party, he has represented the constituency of Calgary-Hays as an MLA since 2012. Before his provincial career, McIver served on the Calgary City Council from 2001 to 2010. Throughout his tenure in provincial politics, he has held various cabinet positions, including Minister of Transportation, Minister of Infrastructure, and Minister of Municipal Affairs, and served as the interim leader of the Progressive Conservative Party from 2015 to 2017.
