Éric Straumann is a French politician currently serving as the Mayor of Colmar since 2020. A member of The Republicans, he previously served as a deputy for the Haut-Rhin department from 2007 to 2020 and as president of the Haut-Rhin departmental council from 2015 to 2017. Before entering politics, he worked as a bank branch manager and an economics and management teacher. Throughout his career, he has been a vocal advocate for regional interests, including opposition to the merger of French regions and support for nuclear energy compensation following the closure of the Fessenheim plant.
