He began his political career as a state deputy in the Legislative Assembly of Rio de Janeiro, serving multiple terms starting in 2002. After several years as a substitute, he assumed his federal mandate definitively in April 2025 following the expulsion of Chiquinho Brazão. Throughout his career, he has been affiliated with various parties, including the União Brasil and currently the Brazilian Social Democracy Party (PSDB).
