Rob Ortt is an American politician and military veteran serving as the Minority Leader of the New York State Senate. First elected to the Senate in 2014, he represents the 62nd district, which includes Niagara and Orleans counties. Before his tenure in the state legislature, Ortt served as the mayor of North Tonawanda and as a city clerk-treasurer. A veteran of the New York Army National Guard, he served in the War in Afghanistan and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal. Politically, Ortt is a conservative who has opposed abortion rights and various progressive legislative initiatives in New York, while advocating for fiscal oversight and government accountability.
