Saffet Sancaklı

Saffet Sancaklı is a Turkish politician and former professional footballer who currently serves as a member of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey representing Kocaeli. Before entering politics, he enjoyed a successful career as a striker in the Süper Lig, notably playing for Turkey's 'Big Three' clubs: Beşiktaş, Galatasaray, and Fenerbahçe. He also represented the Turkey national football team, including an appearance at the 1996 UEFA European Championship. Since transitioning to politics with the Nationalist Movement Party, he has focused on his parliamentary duties after unsuccessful bids for a parliamentary seat in 2011 and the Kocaeli mayoralty in 2014.
