Sam Liccardo is an American politician and attorney currently serving as the U.S. Representative for California's 16th congressional district. Previously, he served as the 65th mayor of San Jose from 2015 to 2023, where he focused on pension reform, transportation infrastructure, and digital inclusion initiatives. Before his mayoral tenure, he served on the San Jose City Council and worked as a criminal prosecutor in the Santa Clara County District Attorney's office. Liccardo holds degrees from Georgetown University and Harvard University.
