Samuel Wattimena

Samuel Wattimena is an Indonesian politician, senior fashion designer, and cultural figure currently serving as a member of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) for the 2024–2029 term, representing the Central Java I electoral district. Before entering formal politics, he had a distinguished career in the fashion industry starting in 1979, known for his dedication to promoting traditional Indonesian textiles (wastra) and serving as a designer for national figures. He previously held roles as a Special Staff member for the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs and the Ministry of Women Empowerment and Child Protection. In parliament, he focuses on supporting the creative economy, protecting local artists, and improving accessibility for people with disabilities in the tourism sector.
