Sandra Jauregui is an American politician serving as the Democratic majority leader of the Nevada Assembly, representing the 41st district in the Las Vegas Valley. Born in 1983 in Monterey Park, California, she is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. A survivor of the 2017 Las Vegas shooting, Jauregui has become a prominent advocate for gun control legislation, notably sponsoring the state's red flag law in 2019. In 2025, she announced her candidacy for Lieutenant Governor of Nevada for the 2026 election.
