Prior to his tenure in the Senate, he served as a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 64th district from 1993 to 2013. Educated at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Hutchinson previously worked as the chief deputy county treasurer for Venango County and served on the Oil City Area School Board. In the State Senate, he holds leadership roles including Chair of the Finance Committee and Vice Chair of the Environmental Resources & Energy Committee.
