Shaundelle Brooks is an American politician serving as a member of the Tennessee House of Representatives for District 60. Raised in Brooklyn, New York, by parents who were both police officers, she entered politics following the tragic loss of her son, Akilah DaSilva, in the 2018 Nashville Waffle House shooting. Brooks was first elected to the Tennessee General Assembly in 2024, running on a platform centered on addressing gun violence and public safety. She assumed office in 2025 after defeating her opponent in the general election.
