Shevrin Jones is an American educator and politician currently serving as a member of the Florida Senate for the 34th district. First elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 2012, he served until 2020 before winning election to the state senate. A member of the Democratic Party, Jones made history in 2018 as the first openly LGBTQ Black lawmaker in the Florida Legislature. Throughout his career, he has focused on education policy and served in various leadership roles within the Democratic caucus.
