Simcha Eichenstein

Simcha Eichenstein is an American politician serving as a member of the New York State Assembly for District 48, representing parts of Brooklyn. Born in 1983 and raised in Borough Park, he previously worked as a senior adviser to New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli and as a director for New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio. Eichenstein is noted for being the first Hasidic lawmaker from Brooklyn elected to government. His legislative focus includes senior citizen programs, housing, and opposition to state-mandated secular education in private religious schools.
