Sovandeb Chattopadhyay is an Indian politician and a veteran trade union leader who serves as a Member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly for the Khardaha constituency. A founding member of the All India Trinamool Congress in 1998 and a close associate of Mamata Banerjee, he has held various ministerial portfolios in the West Bengal government, including Agriculture and Parliamentary Affairs. Throughout his career, he has been a prominent figure in state politics, previously serving as the Government Chief Whip and as a minister for Power and Non-Conventional Energy. He holds degrees in science and law and was a boxer in his youth.
