Кубив, Степан Иванович

Stepan Kubiv was a prominent Ukrainian politician and statesman who served as the First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine from 2016 to 2019. A mathematician and economist by training, he began his career in the banking sector, eventually serving as the Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine in 2014. Throughout his political career, he was a member of the Verkhovna Rada across multiple convocations and acted as a key figure during the Euromaidan protests. He was a member of the European Solidarity party and passed away on May 18, 2026.
