Sylvie Robert

Sylvie Robert is a French politician serving as a member of the French Senate representing Ille-et-Vilaine since 2014. She currently holds the position of Vice-President of the Senate. Before her national parliamentary career, she was a long-serving municipal councillor in Rennes and a regional councillor in Brittany. A member of the Socialist Party, she is widely recognized for her legislative work on public libraries, including the 2021 'Robert Law' which established principles for public reading and library access. Her policy focus includes cultural democratization, the protection of journalists, and the promotion of arts education.
