Tae-young Yeom is a South Korean politician currently serving as a member of the 22nd National Assembly representing Suwon Mu. Before his legislative career, he served as the 26th, 27th, and 28th Mayor of Suwon, becoming the city's first three-term mayor, and later served as the Vice Governor for Economic Affairs of Gyeonggi Province. An environmental activist by background, he founded the Suwon Environmental Movement Center and held various roles in sustainable development governance. His political career includes serving as a Supreme Council member of the Democratic Party of Korea and working within the presidential administration during the Roh Moo-hyun era. He is recognized for his focus on local autonomy, decentralization, and sustainable urban policy.
