Taylor Rehmet

Taylor Rehmet is an American politician and union leader serving as a member of the Texas State Senate for the 9th district. Born in Garland, Texas, he served four years in the United States Air Force before working as an aircraft mechanic at Lockheed Martin. Rehmet gained national attention in 2026 after winning a special election in a historically Republican-leaning district, a victory attributed to his focus on organized labor and support from Democratic organizations. He currently serves as the president of his local and state chapter of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.
