Ben Houchen is a British politician serving as the Mayor of the Tees Valley, a position he has held since the office was first established in 2017. As the leader of the Tees Valley Combined Authority, he oversees regional economic development and infrastructure projects. A member of the Conservative Party, Houchen was re-elected to his post in 2021 and 2024. He is also a member of the Mayoral Council for England and the Council of the Nations and Regions, playing a key role in regional governance and devolution efforts within the United Kingdom.
