Thích Bảo Nghiêm is a prominent Vietnamese Buddhist monk and politician currently serving as a member of the National Assembly of Vietnam for the 16th tenure (2026–2031), representing Hanoi. Born Đặng Minh Châu in 1956, he has held significant leadership roles within the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, including Vice President of the Executive Council and Head of the Central Committee for Propagation. A Doctor of Philosophy, he has been a consistent advocate for environmental protection and cultural preservation, notably calling for strict bans on urban tree felling.
