Tiruchi N. Siva is an Indian politician and a long-serving member of the Rajya Sabha, representing the state of Tamil Nadu for the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK). First elected to the upper house in 1996, he has been re-elected multiple times, most recently in 2020. A prominent voice in parliament, he is widely recognized for introducing the Rights of Transgender Persons Bill, 2014, which became the first private member's bill to be passed by the Rajya Sabha in decades. Throughout his career, he has held various leadership roles within the DMK and was awarded the Best Parliamentarian of the Year in 2019 for his legislative contributions.
