Tom Cato Karlsen

Tom Cato Karlsen is a Norwegian politician and physician serving as the County Governor of Nordland. Born in 1974, he previously served as a deputy representative to the Storting from 2013 to 2017 and as a state secretary for the Ministry of Transport and Communications between 2014 and 2017. Before his appointment as governor in 2019, he was active in local politics as a member of the Bodø Municipal Council and as deputy mayor of Bodø. He is a trained anesthesiologist and was reappointed for a second term as governor in 2024.
