Tomio Okamura

Tomio Okamura is a Japanese-born Czech politician and entrepreneur serving as the President of the Chamber of Deputies since November 2025. A prominent figure in Czech politics, he founded the political parties Dawn of Direct Democracy and Freedom and Direct Democracy (SPD), the latter of which is known for its hard Eurosceptic and anti-immigration platform. Before his parliamentary career, which began in 2013, Okamura worked as an entrepreneur in the travel and gastronomy sectors and served as a senator for Zlín from 2012 to 2013. He is a vocal advocate for direct democracy and has authored several books on governance and politics.
