友納理緒

Rio Tomonoh is a Japanese politician, lawyer, and nurse currently serving as a member of the House of Councillors. Born in Tokyo and raised in Kanagawa, she pursued a career in healthcare after volunteering at Mother Teresa's home in the Philippines. She earned degrees from Tokyo Medical and Dental University and Waseda University, later working as a nurse and a lawyer specializing in medical and legal affairs. Elected to the House of Councillors in 2022 as a candidate for the Japan Nursing Association, she has held positions as Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Cabinet Office and Parliamentary Vice-Minister of the Environment. She is known for her expertise in medical ethics and nursing law, and she has authored several books on nursing care and legal liability.
