Vanessa Barata

Vanessa Barata is a Portuguese politician and lawyer serving as a member of the Assembly of the Republic for the Braga constituency. First elected in 2024 as a representative of the right-wing CHEGA party, she was re-elected in 2025. In parliament, she has focused on legislative initiatives regarding civil protection, the professional status of firefighters, and labor rights, including proposals to standardize meal subsidies in the private sector. She serves on several parliamentary committees, including the Committee on Constitutional Affairs, Rights, Freedoms and Guarantees.
