Verena Schäffer is a German politician and member of the Alliance 90/The Greens party. Since January 2026, she has served as the Minister for Children, Youth, Family, Equality, Flight and Integration of North Rhine-Westphalia in the Wüst II cabinet. Previously, she was a long-standing member of the Landtag of North Rhine-Westphalia, where she served as chair of the Green parliamentary group from 2020 to 2026. Her political career began in local government in Witten, and she has focused extensively on interior policy and the fight against right-wing extremism throughout her legislative tenure.
