Viktor Sanikidze

Viktor Sanikidze is a Georgian politician and former professional basketball player. Before entering politics, he enjoyed a successful international basketball career, playing for various European clubs including JDA Dijon, Virtus Bologna, and Aris Thessaloniki, as well as representing the Georgian national team. He was selected in the 2004 NBA draft by the Atlanta Hawks. Since December 2020, he has served as a member of the Parliament of Georgia, where he holds the position of first deputy chairperson of the Sports and Youth Issues Committee. Sanikidze is a member of the ruling Georgian Dream party and has been involved in controversies regarding his conduct during national protests.
