Viola Davis is an American politician, nurse, and businesswoman serving as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives for District 87. Born in Topeka, Kansas, she was involved in the third phase of the Brown v. Board of Education desegregation efforts during her youth. Before entering politics, Davis served in the United States Army, worked as a critical care nurse, and operated a hair salon. She was first elected to the Georgia House in 2018 after defeating an incumbent, and she continues to represent DeKalb County in the state legislature.
