脇雅昭

Masaaki Waki is a Japanese politician and former bureaucrat currently serving as a member of the House of Councillors, representing the Kanagawa constituency. Born in Miyakonojo, Miyazaki Prefecture, he graduated from the University of Tokyo Law School and holds a background in law and public administration. Waki previously served in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications and held various senior positions within the Kanagawa Prefectural Government, including Director of the Industrial and Labor Affairs Bureau. He was elected to the House of Councillors in 2025 as a candidate for the Liberal Democratic Party. His office is notable for employing former professional athletes, including baseball player Ginji Miura and footballer Kazuki Sato, as staff members.
